True, capitalists aren't the only ones with privileged positions in a modern capitalist society.

Opposing the oligarchy =/= condoning socialism.

In the context of the study by Princeton researchers that covers the likelihoods of laws passing based on support by the wealthy vs support by the masses.

What do you think is the best way to get from where we are now with the wealthy having so much control over the laws and where we ought to be with the masses having it? Of course I think there's the same problem, I just think it's unavoidable given the current state of affairs. There are people with a lot of power (politicians) who want money and people with a lot of money (capitalists) who want power. It's a market. Reform, if ever effective, is temporary at best, but you can't change the fact that power corrupts.

they should add a limitation on spending, like 100M$, in their act.
also i think billionaires could completely pass over this.

The idea behind the anti-corruption act isn't to limit billionaires, it's to limit the politicians. Does a billionaire want to throw money at a politician? Then the politician can't vote on laws related to the billionaire's industry.

In france theres simply a limitation on the amount given (4 600 € max) per donator per campaing (companies cant donate) and everything is traced. theres also a limit on total spend (22.6M €) and 50% of the spend can be paid back by the state... if the candidate made more than 5% :santa:
