Elias Pettersson has signed an 8 year deal. Official financial details have not yet been disclosed but it appears to be 8 years @11.6 million.

No more rumours and distractions! Time to get back on track now.

Fair contract, rumor was 12x8 so I'm satisfied. Biggest part is 8yrs instead of Matthews type of short contracts

What are the significances of salary vs signing bonus? All financially related to the player/taxation?

they get it even if they are on lockout
and it's one big check at the beggening or end of the season
I don't remember

and that's pretty much it

I doubt it changes anything for taxation

well you get money sooner than later throughout your long contract.
This also makes it buyout proof and protect them from a lockout.

Avs have essentially traded 1st rounder 2025, Byram and Ryan Johansen(4mil cap dump) for Sean walker, Mittlestadt and a 5th. And still have 5mil of ltir cap space to work with

How do you feel about losing Byram and getting Walker instead?

I don't know much about walker. I did enjoy Bobo but his injuries are definitely a thing and he's had a pretty rough year this year. We weren't going to be able to pay him his next contract and this hopefully finally solves the avs 2nd line center questions. With the addition of Walker and Malinski + Jones being solid call up pieces it made Byram expendable.
