I like that we get a goalie prospect out of this. I liked Brass hustle but he didn't get much done offensively. Well except when paired with Stone but everyone produce with Stone.

I wonder if Cole would be willing to extend his contract and stay with Ottawa for next year. I know he would probably fetch a nice return if we would flip him but I think he would really help our D group for the next years if we were to keep him. I know we're in selling mode this year but next year I hope they plan to try to be competitive again.. Especially since we won't have our first round pick eh.

We will have no 2C to replace Brassard, we won't be competetive with Pageau there lol.


Oduya + Smith left to be traded, keep everyone else and we can be competitive for sure. Let's get Tavares! Lol

While we don't really have any one to replace Brassard, I'm thinking that with the addition of Brown and White or should play full time next year we will be alright.

And yeah I agree, Oduya and Smith are the two other I would be looking to trade. Don't even care with the return at this point, they're both useless and Smith makes over 3M per year.

There's another team involved in the trade according to Lebrun. Looks like we're flipping Cole after all.

Just talked to someone who said of the Brassard deal "The league hasn't weighed in on it yet, this one is a complex one."

Not sure what this is supposed to mean.

If we manage to flip Cole, depending on what we get, it will offset some of the Zibanejad trade. I wouldn't mind flipping or keeping him tbh
