The idea is a tournament user interface
This wouldnt take long to code. Of course these examples are what the person who opened the tournament sees. Sorry for the bad edit work it was quick. This is a VERY rough draft of the idea. Of course the possibilities are endless.
UI example:Other options:Rules- Add a text box when creating the new tournament that allows the user to post a rules section.
Tournament Creation Fee- When a user creates a tournament he/she must pay a fee in order to open a tournament(Example, 250fg). This prevents users from creating dummy(spam) tournaments. This also allows for all tournaments to have a minimum payout. And it also allows for a small amount to be automatically sent to the forum bank(hourly raffle).
Free tournament- User can create a tournament that has no entry fee but still has to pay to create it (Cheaper fee to create a free entry tournament)
Paid Tournament Fee System- Drop down menu while creating a new tournament that allows the user to select the buy in amount. Limit the amounts the user can select(Example: minimum 25fg maximum 500fg). Setup the buy in so that when a user joins he/she has to agree to the tournament rules and accept with his/her fg password to enter the tournament. Would be easy to have the system automatically take XX% of the entry fee and place it to the forum bank(hourly raffle).
Pay out System- When the tournament is completed(final winner is selected and the person running the tournament saves settings on the final bracket) the forum bank would automatically send the appropriate amount of fg to the winners.
Integrating into the Events section- This UI could be integrated into the Events section and look similar to what events currently look like, adding in a view bracket button would save clutter. When the user clicks on the button it would open a window with the tournament bracket and current standings. This would also work with Rules.
Game selection- When a user creates a new tournament he/she selects a game the tournament is for from a drop down menu. This can limit what games tournaments can be created for and keep people from using it for unwanted games (example: if you didnt want poker tournaments or tournaments created for no purpose).
Open to suggestions:
Please feel free to add any input you may have by posting your comments here. I came up with this in about a half hour and thought it was a cool idea. I realize the example is very basic and lacks many possible options.
