you guys and your expensive shit lmao, I've never spent more than $40 on a spinning rod, never more than $100 on a fly rod or spin/fly reel.

I can sell one of those GLOOMIS rods and cover the cost of both lol. For reels, I just want it to cast and retrieve smoothly, be able to handle a 15-20lb salmon, and not need cleaning after every use.

My most expensive rod retails for $90 and I picked it up for $25. B)

I agree, but it also depends on the person fishing. I've used my son's little Zebco and caught an 8lb silver.
