Sounds like D3 will now be on a cruise control for the foreseeable future. They'll probably put out a patch and reset ladder every now and then but I doubt we see any big improvements or that 2nd expansion that was supposed to come.
If this is true I guess they believe that D3 is irreparable. Might as well start a new game from the ground up that fixes what D3 did wrong.
D3 losing trade and introducing personalized difficulty scaling made the game feel very un-rewarding and generic.
It was fun when Vanilla first came out (after the 2nd or 3rd week when they scaled back the Inferno difficulty so it was actually playable). RoS killed the game IMO. Made it feel like something you dust off for 1 week every 3-6 months instead of something worth committing time to.
