Bench is usually 25% of your total, yours is like 18.5% which is way off

What's your weekly schedule look like? There are lots of things that can help you but will depend on what you're currently doing and what you've done in the past

I'm usually doing the big movements every day.. I'll vary heavy 5x3 and high reps every other day.

I usually bench x2 a week, and switch up that movement with OHP..

Remove OHP

Bench 3 x week

Don't train to failure

I'll keep that in mind. I'm pausing at the catch on one of my other days. Training is still pretty general and I'm mostly working from boxes still. I'll probably work with my first weight from the floor after a month or so.

My coach is really good! As an athlete he went to 1984 and 1992 Olympics and as a coach he's bringing 7 of his athletes to Junior worlds this summer...a first in Canada's history!

This is a thing I've never understood why coaches implement in ''new athletes''.
I've always felt it ruins the bar path and got this backed up by friend who trained with Klokov & Berestov and is currently coached under one of russias junior coaches.
They said block/hang variations should only be done when the movement as a whole is basically automatic since the timing/positioning is completely different due to a way more advantageous start.

Please ask your coach why, cause I would love to hear an actual competent person comment on this instead of the usual CF coaches who says ''The pros does it'' etcetc

It's a really good question and I'm gonna ask him later for sure but for now I am gonna trust the process. I might add that I work from low blocks on Friday and do a lot of pull from the floor with slow concentric to the knees for both clean and snatch pulls. I'm sure he has his reasons.

Welcome to the world of slow ass natty gains

Take your 1 rep max, if i told you in 2 and a half years you could now rep it for 5, would you be happy?

For Americans: 200 kg = 440 lb. 140 kg = 308 lb

i've never taught the lifts from the blocks. i recently put it in one of our clubs lifting sessions as a primer to more hang work.
the blocks help proper position and hope to properly incorporate leg drive from the positions that the athlete breaks down in.
to my previous statement though, i haven't used them or prescribed them to any of my lifters..yet

2 Weeks done! Coach said we would change some things this week. Week 2 was hard to recover. I had some shoulder and wrist pain but it seems good now. Not super easy to recover from squatting pulling and pushing 6 days a week. :O
