This is another area conservative hypocrisy is incredibly apparent. They like to say "personal responsibility" when trying to justify cutting social programs, but when it comes to leaving Iraq and allowing the Iraqis protect their own (as we have already trained them to do), they think it's still OUR job to do it. We've already given them the means to protect their people. How can someone be so supportive of spending billions of dollars to take care of a foreign nation's people while absolutely refusing to spend billions of dollars to take care of its own?

...it's really simple , easy enough for even you to understand . I believe in exporting democracy for the good of all peoples around the globe even if we must do with less for a time . I guess I'm just not as selfish as some people .

Yup, and the bullshitting on both sides of the argument was one of the reasons our ability to act in Iraq was hampered. (One of the other reasons being general stupidity of policy, but that's another discussion.)

For the record, I think that going into Iraq was a really stupid idea that highlights the naivete of the Bush Jr. administration at the time.

there was nothing naive about their actions
they intentionally lied

and im not quite sure what u mean about there being bullshit on both sides of the argument
one side said " they got wmd's " , and the other side said " no they dont "

the whole idea that the same iraq who couldnt beat iran after years of trying , with western support
was gonna somehow attack america
well , thats on a par with beleiveing that iran is now gonna somehow attack america ......

Why can't you guys just let them secede? There aren't many Turks that live in the Kurdish areas, are there?
