All I want is main characters to die, is that really too much to ask for?

Definitely a better episode now that they got back the plot we all wanted to see.

Positives:
Negan/Gabriel convo was a welcome change of pace. Seeing the meeting was great. I am starting to feel it more believable that Negan DOES actually have a noble plan in mind and that his violence is just a means to support a positive vision of progress for the human population of North America.

Negatives:
I'm a little bit miffed by the whole "oh lets just use the guts" plot mechanic, though every show is guilty of similar things and TWD isn't overusing it so I won't complain too much.
I find it unrealistic that Eugene would have put together the info Daryl based blood/paint fingerprints. The prints wouldn't have stayed legible through those contact surfaces.

Questions:
Did Gabriel get sick from having the guts all over him? Was the helicopter just a delusion?

Back in the episode "Clear" Morgan actually wrote on his wall that wearing the guts too long can make you sick. So it's possible he got sick from that or he got bit and no one noticed.

And simon mentioned a flyer and taking out rick's people out, and Negan went off on him, so I think they may have a helicopter.

One of my favorite episodes of this season. Negan and Gabriel were great, makes you think that Negan is just like Rick but on the other side.

I had a feeling they were going to fall back on the "cover ourselves with guts" plan to get out. I didn't like the whole Rick/Daryl fight scene, as it really just felt out of place. I hope the remaining episodes are more in the mold of this one than the previous.

I wonder if Eugene will bite the dust with the Saviors trying to figure out who the rat is. He would be my first choice as well.

-effective leadership

differences rick/negan

-rick doesn't enslave, but rather seeks cooperation
-rick self doubts and deliberates constantly with himself and others regarding methods etc., negan is absolute in his conviction
-negan only has advisors, rick is not the absolute ruler
-negan uses cruel ways to kill

So i'd argue that they defenitely are not the same but on other sides, just my $0.02

They aren't identical, but i would argue that they're more similar than different. Either way, i think that attempting to humanize Negan is good for the show. I like the conflict/contrast.
