....and strike outs

He's in the NLfuckingOL

...ok? He has struck out a lot, but he MORE than makes up for that in his production.

Strikeouts mean shit when you put up 45+ HR and 130+ RBI every season and are a .300+ hitter with RISP. And let's be serious, i'll take a strikeout over a groundout double play any day...

Even though he's not striking out as much, lost a lot of weight, and is just a better overall athlete now. Defensively he's improved so much it's not even funny.

Yeah, that's what it took to keep him because if he hit the FA market he would of been paid around that anyway if not a little more.

And he's worth it lol....don't even make me bring up his consistant production year in and year out leading MLB in HR's and RBI....

Guys with his body type don't age well at all. He is already 30 and is going to become a liability in the midst of his contract.

Grounding into a DP does not mean you're doing something wrong. It means the opposite, actually. In before you take that way out of context like I know you will.

wat

Guys with his body type? Have you watched him at all over last season or this season? Last year he dropped over 20 lbs, and this season he came in even slimmer and in better shape than he's ever been...

His defense has only improved and continues to improve. Similar to Utley, gets better with age.

You gotta be joking me... He lost 20lbs but he is still HUGE. His skill set with the bat doesn't age well either... look here:

We’re not only looking very far into the future, but we’re doing so with a hitting profile that historically ages awfully. Richie Sexson, Cecil Fielder, Mo Vaugn, David Ortiz, Tony Clark and others are among Ryan Howard’s most comparable hitters according to Baseball-Reference. All of them dropped off harshly in their early 30s. About the only success story in Howard’s top ten comparables in Willie McCovey.

He's huge as in built like a fucking wall. You obviously haven't watched him if you think he's still HUGE as in a fat fuck...he's not CC Sabathia level of fat anymore.

He's quick as shit for a big man, plays some really good defense now, and if you've watched him this season you'll see he has some seriously improved plate discipline.

People were laughing at the Phillies when they figured they couldn't re-sign him, and now that they do sign him you say it was bad? LOL. We couldn't be anymore happy in Philly right now, this was huge.
