Some days ago I was thinking about making a Macro lens, like the one Futurama made. But I though maybe I could make it zoom alot more. So I looked at my telezoom, and began to think......

Right now I am making a prototype of it:

The first photos made of the prototype:
Overview: (Look at the battery, there are small black stripes)

Macro: (Non edited and cropped, just resized)

I know it is very crappy. The battery was handheld, and inside the tube I need to spray it with some "Anti reflect" color or use some paper to remove the reflections from the light.
I am going to make a table to the lens, so I can focus much better and avoid shake.

As my project goes on I will post more photos of it.

Thanks. But I need new materials to make the final one, after I have tested the prototype.

Like I said to Chantal, I need materials to get the final result.

I don't understand how the lens works...
You're just putting space between the lens and camera or something? o.O I don't get how you mount it, which side...I don't see the macro aspect of the lens being reversed in this.

It is a reversed macro with a space between the reversed lens and the body to increase the macrozoom. It is a prototype, so I do not have a mount at the moment. I have made a mount, but I need new materials before I will glue on the mount.

OH sweet.
So it's reversed with space.

You should just take the camera body cap, or buy a new one for like $5 and cut a hole in it, glue it on, and then you can mount it!

Like mine ^_^
