Hey Raynor, What are your thoughts about Glutamine?

Someone recommended it to me, but some of the stuff I'm finding on the internet about it is conflicting. Is it fine to take, and if so, what would you recommend?

Several ways.

Increase water intake (yes, increase it, at least 1-1.5 gals per day)
Increase exercise
Increase dieuretic intake, such as leafy greens, asparagus, and celery.
Decrease sodium intake (no more than 2,000-2,200 mg per day)
Increase potassium intake (approx 3,000-4,000 mg per day total)

L-Glutamine is certainly fine to take. 5g PWO is sufficient, however most shakes already have this, so no additional supplemental glutamine would be required.

Are you confusing Glutamine with Glucosamine? Glucosamine, Chondroiton, and MSM are parts of common joint support formulas. All protein powders will have L-Glutamine, which is fine.

If you are taking a protein shake, there is no need whatsoever.

edit:

but with regard to glucosamine, yes that would help your overall joint health, regardless of age.
