Bumping my old thread, but actually paying some attention to melee again...
So, the IAS bp's like 90% and 125% are based on total character AR. EBOTD gets you to 60% no matter what build.
Levi proved impractical.
Other variables I throw in the mix these days are Metal Grid and Guillaume's Face (with 40/15).
Metal Grid and a Sacred E Prudence is a great armor to combine with Metal Grid because your def goes way up and makes you damn hard to hit.
I've always ran a little bit heavier on the STR side due to my use of non-e Sacred Fortitude.
With the advent of the Up'd Arreats, everyone should hopefully run one, or a G Arreats.
Another great option I see out there is the visionary barbarian helms.
I have not had a chance to experiment with these.
Most barb I see with these are fairly purpose built and cannot easily swap to an Arreats based setup. The problem is they lean toward a build with lower dex and str and so may be more limited in their gear switches or required a more specialized stash.
This is not meant to discourage anyone, just being honest, it requires more of an investment.
As for plopping such a helm on a more traditional build, and seeing how it does, well, I can see if I can borrow one and get a feel for it.
Thought I'd give a bit of an update.
