Yooo, so it's time to build new pc, but was wondering what is your take on which gpu to choose between the 4070 ti and 7900 xt.

I have them both available for the same price here in SWE. so which one would you choose?

It will be paired with a i7 14700kf
powered by a 850w seasonic plati

Should I care about power draw? Does it differ that much in the long run? Lets say I on average will play 2h per day for 3 years.

I will be playing on 1440p. I prefer frames before visuals. so 1% lows is important for me.
Reason for upgrade is because i currently sit on 7700k + gtx 1070 combo which works fine for 1080p. But it's time to step up the visuals, and I have the dough.
For futureproofing, the 4070ti has 12gb and the 7900xt 20gb. Will I get bottlenecked by the 12gb in the future on 1440p?
DLSS VS FSR? My Colleague says that DLSS is better, but I've also read that FSR development is very positive and should be on par if not better soon

this will be sitting in an Asus a21 case if anyones wondering.

I like using shadowplay for the instant replay function, and I've seen that ReLive also has the instant replay function. If you have experience of both, which one do you prefer?

A little bit of googling and the answers is all over the place with whats best. so I'm turning to the geeks on d2jsp for final decision.

There’s no wrong or right, both are great gpu.

I’d get Nvidia for simplicity’s sake.

The 4070 ti became out of stock, but I got the 7900 xt. To be exact it was the XFX Speedster MerC310 Black Gaming 7900 XT.

I also sadly got a headache from the monitor I bought on black friday. I bought the LG 27GP850-B...

So I decided to go all in big dick and bought the LG Oled 27gr95qe-b which was like 200% more in price. But hey. Visuals!

20GB vram so this card shouldn't bottlneck on vram ever during it's lifetime. So lets hope FSR gets well developed and does as well as DLSS does in the future :)

Good man. AMD cards have WAY less headache than Nvidia lately. AMD used to have bad drivers and Nvidia was the way to go but now Nvidia has shitty drivers and AMD is the way to go. Honestly the power of the card isn't as important as the programming behind the drivers. You could have the world's most powerful card but if Windows doesn't know how to properly utilize it it's going to be a giant heater that does fuck-all.

I should add that the reason for the chassi is that I want something smaller than my current Fractal Design R4. It's not smaller by much, but enough to fit well where it should be.
I still haven't received it yet, so if you can point me in the direction of something better. Something better that has the capability to have a 345mm long ass GPU and 360mm radiator in top, then it's great.
Important is ofcourse thermals and noise.

I think you made the right choice with the 7900xt
the 12gb on the 4070ti is going to hold it back.

I have terabyte drives funny. I never even max out my 256GB SSDs. Now if you want a laptop with 16 gigs you have to buy a 512 hard drive which is too much.. between cloud storage and thumb drives why would you ever need a terabyte?

I will say that that is a good graphics card but don't expect it to max out 1440p at 144 hz. I remember buying my 3440 by 1440p monitor and thinking the 2080 TI could max graphics and frames but at that resolution you choose which of the two you want. You can't have both. Either pretty pictures with big resolution or big resolution with higher frames. Ooooorrrrrr you could drop the resolution, max quality, and still get frames but I think high resolution at low settings look better than low resolution with high settings. You also get better frames on average.

You might be able to max out some games at 1440p and 144 HZ but it really depends on the game and how new it is and the technology that they're trying to use. Also some games are more CPU dependent just because of all the Collision detection shit. When you start getting into massive multiplayer games like 64 player maps and 128 player Maps you're going to start running into more CPU bottlenecking because of all the floating Point integer and all that crap that has to be computed.
