just gotta say, grief is the hardest hitting because of the +damage. it has nothing to do with the actual on screen damage...

Yup

That's why it was used as a theoretical comparisson to +whole number damage on jewels

The thread is about why and how (exactly) +whole number damage into a character's equation, is bugging, on double moded jewels

This thread is not a debate about Grief

Also, for those of you who are PMing me results
Thank you much for the feedback and overall interest
But remember that if you're using an editor, we need these stats to more closely resemble actual GM characters and the gear they would be using on Closed Realms
Otherwise the feedback, although interesting, isn't a sound example of what we are trying to figure out

Not trying to hassle you guys, just being clear with ya

death wont outdamage grief " easily ":

grief pb +400( without 15ed ) has like 433 avg dmg 488.5

death ettin axe with 400ed has 370 average damage 425.5

adding in 37 max dmg charms ( best situation for death - as it reduces % diff between weapon damage )

we get:

grief pb +400( without 15ed ) has like 488.5 avg dmg

death ettin axe with 400ed has 427.5 average damage.

% difference between is 14.8%

Lets assume, death setup gets 100% DS -> if grief setup has 100% DS, anything above 74% DS will result in grief doing more average damage - so highlords gores and grief will result in about the same damage( not including the cb on death but cb damage isn't so much ).

no but, i never said anything about guil face, just highlords and gores, stuff that most characters using death/grief will be wearing.
