Introduction
Recently a fellow Hungarian user, joey has begun his own 1.07 HC walkthrough and posted all about it in the Hungarian subforums. After browsing his thread, I got really nostalgic and really felt like installing the game again after such a long break and give it another push to my limits if I can complete the game probably on the hardest difficulity settings it has to offer. I will be trying to post as often as possible, altough my free time doesn't always allow me to play that frequently. I'll do my best though.

Why 1.07?
1.07 was the release version of the expansion pack Lords of Destruction which has had its own ups and downs. Being able to socket magic items at Larzuk is not a big deal, but having a change to get even up to 4 sockets sounds fun doesn't it? The difficulity is completely unbalanced, sometimes even close to impossible to get through parts without ripping your hair out in frustration, although getting results will grant you a lot more satisfaction in return. Being able to craft overpowered armor and weapons but act bosses are way too hard to kill and their loot table is miserable? Not being to able go get the godly 1.07 Shako or Arkaine's Valor off foes but only by running racks non-stop? Having more players in the game only increases the challange and experience you gain, but drops are the same as in a solo game? Being able to hit very high levels a bit easier than in future patches? And I didn't even get into all the other odd, yet fun stuff that this version presents, which gives the game a unique twist on how you approach this whole challange.

Why Amazon?
I decided to go for a Javazon, because it's a very efficient build in 1.07 thanks to the bolts of Lightning Fury are affected by modifiers such as: Critical Strike and Pierce Skills, each bolt steals life/mana and are also affected by Crushing Blow and Opening Wounds mods, not to even mention that the physical damage of your javelin is also added to the bolts.

Rules
Hardcore
Players 8 (using modified d2gfx.dll with 7 dummy characters joining a locally set up game, due to the "players x" command only got introduced in patch 1.09)
No maphack, character editor, nor item import allowed, or any other cheats allowed

Goals
Completing the game by killing Baal on Hell
Being able to farm Secret Cow Level efficiently
Reaching level 99
Getting decent gear (Rattlecage, Titan's Revenge, Guillame's Face, Raven Frost and so on..)
Crafting high level Blood items

I wasted all my money on resurrecting my merc (forgot to mention in the previous post that I got a cold arrow one, which is really useful)

Progressing is a pain in the ass by the way. I'm chugging potions nearly all the time when there are more than two monsters around me, also the droprate is awful. I'm using a socketed short sword with two chipped saphirres in it.

Edit: I'm really tired at the moment, so I'll prolly stop gaming for today. More to come tomorrow!

Any updates soon?

Sorry for the lack of updates folks, my hdd managed to die. Took me days to get all the data back, sector by sector. Also, I managed to get my jsp account suspended. Getting back to you with updates tomorrow!
