I don't find the costumes offensive - nor am I offended when someone disagrees with my ideas

I'm not offended, I've just never understood why people find joy in offending other people.

HAHA, 3,000 innocent people died in the twin towers, let's be outrageous, we'll get attention! Maybe next year we should write a tattoo on our wrist and dress up as Holocaust victims! That'll get a laugh.

I think it confuses me because I've never been an attention whore.

Also - you are as guilty as me of making deliberately offensive and inflammatory posts. You're just worse at it.

The shock and awe type of humor never amused me. There's nothing clever about it, and it is on par with fart jokes.



I find that people who are amused at jokes about mass murders have psychological issues.

There's a difference between trolling and blatant offensiveness. For instance, I'll make generalizations about liberals and atheists(usually accurate), but I won't get personal about someone's past, or a tragedy. I think I may have more empathy than the average PaRD troll.

excessive amounts of deliberately offensive and destructive behaviour to provoke reactions from other people is a way of acquiring pleasure via attention and control over other people. by doing something nasty (spewing faeces on the board) he receives reactions such as scolding (attention to his deeds) and thus exhibits a form of control / power over other people and their reactions. it is to validate the power that the person's self has and to "stroke the ego".
Freud might've called such behaviour "anal expulsive fixation".
