Well, sorry for posting in your ever so important attention thread.

Well, you're two years older than me, so you most likely have one more year than I do of real world experience. I watched 30 seconds of the video and decided that it was a history lesson, so I wasn't that interested. I'm interested in the rationale that compels people to work at a desk for 12$/hr when they could be a pizza delivery guy for 17$/hr.

We've talked about this before. There's really not much to say.

I think the fact that my father has been making >150K$/yr for the last 10 years has just warped my whole view of how the world works.

Well you work for sprint and they pay you a decent amount. You havent told me what it is, but I know it's at least somewhat large. Im going to get paid 58k$/year. It's the interwebs, no one knows me and I don't know no one.

The amount of money you make or you are going to make both is and isn't important at the same time. If you don't feel comfortable sharing it, I don't want to know it. But where I am leading this conversation is that 58k$/yr really isn't that much.

I'm 20 and in college, they're paying me around 25k a year base pay, but most people working there double that in bonuses for performance. I haven't worked there long and I'm just out of training so I have no way of knowing what my bonuses will be, so I estimate about 35k, as a very tenative estimate. But they're also paying around 10k a year for my school and other miscellanious things, so that's what I'm currently at.


Sorry I was in a starcraft game, didn't shy away because of salary.

Just get some training in mining, come to australia and work for 3-5 years, go back to america, buy your house, car, boat, anything else you want with cash.

Right? there always is the skilled labor game where if you anticipate it right can be making up to $100/hr. But yea, a pizza delivery guy easily makes 50K/year.

Speaking as somebody who was a pizza delivery guy, that isn't anywhere near the norm. Maybe if you take like new york city they might make that, but at the same time its going to be equivilant to 18k after taking into account the insane cost of living.


On top of going through at least 40$ in gas every day you work, take that times about 260 working days a year, then the rate you're going through car repairs, it becomes less glamorous unless you're in a very very good area.
