The Zeal Society would like to announce that they're hosting a dedicated Nontap and Tap Zealot ladder. This ladder isn't your ordinary ladder as it's a point based system. Unlike the traditional ladders where you have to wait and deal with frustrations of aligning schedules; this system totally avoids that.

Who?
You on your Zealot.

What?
- This is a Nontap and Tap Zealot ladder using ZPK Rules popularized by the Korean Melee community.
- There are two main ways to duel in this ladder. Nontap and Tap. There will be three rankings, one for Nontap, Tap and Overall (which adds points awarded from both disciplines).
- Matches are First to 15. You receive +2 bonus points for a match win. Loser receive points based on your score. For example, if you win 15-14. You receive 17 points and your opponent receives 14.
- You can can duel one individual a total of four times. Twice in Nontap and twice in Tap.

When?
- Start date is February 15th. Ladder reset is on February 16th.
- Season length is to be determined, but likely will run the length of ladder season.

Where?
- The ladder itself is ran from a google spreadsheet and hosted by the "Zeal Society" disc. Signups, match results, rules, and more information is posted there.

Why?
- Some of the largest frustrations with current ladders and status quo is that they eventually get stale and repetitive.
- There is too much waiting around being locked into challenges for 3-4 days. You have to make appointments with your opponents and sometimes just never line up.
- Sometimes progression is impossible when you're waiting for the two people above you to finish their challenges, while you kept getting challenged below you.
- This allows you to be able to take time away from the game and not feel bad for doing so. You can duel on your own time and have it matter for ranked play.

Special notes
- At the end of season, there will be international play vs the Korean melee scene. It is to be determined, but there will likely be Top 10 players from each Region to face off in both Individual and Team play matches. These both will involve Tap and Nontap play.
- There will be 4 main tournaments throughout the season that will award ranking points and prizes. To be announced when dates are confirmed.

This thread will be used to show current the rankings periodically, announcements for tournaments, discussion, etc.

Match Rules

- Choose with your opponent either Nontap or Tap Dueling. See exact gear rules down below.
- First to 15.
- 2 Swaps per player, cannot both swap at the same time. If a swap occurs, one duel must take place before someone can declare a swap.
- Must duel in Inner Cloister and on Normal.
- Chilling Armor is not cleared and remains on.
- No Tokens during the match.
- One Gearcheck per match. When declared, cannot declare a swap for 2 consecutive duels.

Nontap (ZPK Rules)

Weapons
- Any weapon that casts amplify curses, have slow or emit auras that cause damage/holyfreeze are prohibited.

List of Prohibited Weapons:
- Grief
- Doom
- Any weapon that casts amplify damage.
- Any weapon that causes slow, for example: Eternity Runeword, Astreon's Ward.
- Any ethereal weapon with no self repair mod or zod rune (breakable weapon).

Armor/Jewelry Rules
- Any armor or jewelry that casts amplify damage, weaken, life tap, lower resists, decrepify.
- Any armor that cast enchant, for example: Lavagouts.
- Any armor that slows, for example: Blackhorn's and Nosferatu's Coil.
- Any armor that applies knockback.
- Any ethereal armor with no self repair mod or Zod rune (breakable armor).
- Any facet jewels are not permitted.

List of Prohibited Armors & Jewelry:
- Andariel's Visage
- Any armor and jewelry that falls in the above rules.

Inventory:
- Poison damage in any charm.

Tap Rules
- Same as above except that Exile and Andariel's Visage are permitted.
