Yes nerf cold mastery instead. But keep it - resist. It makes cold unique and I like that we have an option to start with cold if we cannot afford better gear. However, nerf the stats on cold mastery. Make us put all 20 skill points in it before we take the mob’s resist to the negatives. Unlike now, puting 10 points in CM and you can already coast through the game with a sunder charm.

My suggestion is Cold Mastery works at 1/3 rate for sundered Cold Immunes (better than 1/5 conviction or lower resist since Cold Sorc has no + cold dmg talent like fire and light).

But the game was never balanced, and will never be balanced fully.
