for example when trading with a moderator:
the person with the fg sends his fg to the mediator, then the person with the giftcard send his code (?) to the mediator. how does the mediator know its not a fake code.

i guess my understanding of how gift cards (and the sending of those) work is very limited
or does the mediator activate the gift card on his acc and then send a new one to the guy with the fg? im too dumb for this lol

or another situation would be when buying a game, lets say the ultimate edition of d4. how would that work.. dont wanna get scammed lul

Illegal trade. Only games that people are ISO for or digital wallet top-ups (3 day waiting) are allowed.

but there are so many threads saying "ISO 100€ steam balance" whats a "digital wallet top up"?

Afaik u add the trader on steam as friend and after three days u can buy him a steam giftcard that steam transfers directly to his balance. There is no code etc to share in this case.
