If you had 30 seconds to advise someone who had never been in a fight/trained what would you tell them?

2 guys at my work were tlaking about this and one of them told the other to keep his hands up and focus on jabbing and avoiding getting hit rather than trying to land power punches

My advise is, if you have no striking experience you're much better off trying to wrestle them and take them down. Less chance to get injured if they're not on their feet

Kinda silly as 30 seconds isn’t enough time to really teach anyone anything and have them actually remember it, but I’d have to tell them to keep the chin tucked, hands up, try and show them a proper stance, and try to also explain the dire importance of cardio in a fight, especially a street fight. Then I’d wish them the best of luck. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Don't fight clean, poke the eyes and punch the bag, fish hook if necessary and if poking the eyes doesn't work go for the classic eye rake

Good titty twister is pretty underrated also

Grab the jugular if you see fit

There are a lot of trained wrestlers and fighters out there, I wouldn’t recommend wrestling someone down as they can easily get in a dangerous situation.

From experience, for someone who is untrained, their best bet if they’re in danger is to swing first and pray the strike lands cleanly to give them space and time to back away and disengage. Trained fighters or not can get knocked out by an aggressive clean shot. When I was 18 I worked in a maximum security prison, we would see the smallest skinniest dudes knock out inmates 2-3 times their size who have been in way more fights, reason being is if you throw an aggressive first punch and catch them off guard, most guys will either just drop or get stumbled in where you can throw a follow up and cause a concussion

I'd suggest they not lay on the men's room floor soaked in urine like you at work.

Foot position and controlled breathing. Anyone can get knocked out, it's just how the strike lands. Don't be mislead by krawk
