I am not sure if it is a comedy (I do remember funny parts) but somewhat sci-fi/horror?

Group of scientist discover an underground cave where exposure to heat speeds up the evolution process. (bugs, ape like creatures etc.)

One scientist decides too dangerous and blows the whole thing up but this spawns some massive amoeba like creature.

Can't remember how they disposed of it but I think they overloaded it with too much heat or was it cold?

Not the blob, but, cannot remember any of the cast either lol.

Np breh, I remember enjoying it more than I should have when I watched it so it stuck. Hope if you rewatch it that it's held up.
