yeah unfortunately there's not much troubleshooting you can do for that, if there is no SMART error it would make me lead to think its a motherboard issue. might want to update your bios to be sure there was no updates there.
a lot of people just don't push NVME drives in all the way when installing as well and it leads to intermittent issues as there isn't any mechanical latch or anything that holds them in place to verify proper seating

Wanted to add one thing I noticed when reinstalling the NVMe drive. It has no upwards spring to it. Usually when you insert them in the slot they stick up and you have to push them down to put the screw in to hold it down. But my NVMe just falls on its own. No resistance to it. Something to be concerned about?

not sure, sounds like it might be a contact issue though if the spring isn't holding it tight or whatever it is. I know what you're talking about just not sure of the mechanical part that does it.

cheap solution if it keeps happening would be getting a pcie4 m2 card expansion slot and just using the 2nd slot on your mobo

I'll have to look into that option. It's gonna bug me though extra cord and really just wanted to keep it clean as possible. Of course this would happen to the one I buy lol.

Thank you for the input

Are there any negatives to the expansion slot? Over the #1 NVMe slot it's in currently that isn't working?

tbh why build, in the end same price, alienware is fancier and better.

or be like jade and say you platinum tropied every game on ps5 without owning one... its all the same.

expansion slots rarely do anything, by the time you get that far you'll want a whole new computer. its for sound, extra memory, im certain u know this....

Not really no, no more wires needed just the card itself. Should still hit same speeds if it's the same bandwidth (you can check the bandwidth of the slot on your motherboard home page) I. E if your m2 card is pcie 4 then you would want a pcie 4 expansion slot

Plz god don't listen to Mr Alienware below

Lol no I wouldn't ever buy Alienware.

I decided to just exchange the Asus board for another. Want it working how it should only a month old. It's lame but an hour or two and everything will be switched over to the new one. Just a pain in the ass

should be able to warranty the board tbh, a lot of the time they will take a deposit and ship you a new one and you send your fked one back

Yeah I just returned with Amazon and ordered a new one. Wouldnt let me exchange. With my work schedule calling them and talking to someone to start the process wasnt worth the time.

Was able to order a new CPU cooler though instead of the cooler master I liked the Noctua NHu12s and it will fit better.

Going to mess around with vertical mount for the GPU as well. Since its all coming apart again might as well.

In the end not the same price at all.. Building is always the more superior option.. Im certain you know this.
