Hey guys,

I just did my first Uber-Trist-Run with my barb that is based on a 12 years old guide for a Trist-Barb.

All bosses went easily down... except Baal. He took me almost 2 hours because he always healed up again on 5% health. My char is missing sth. Just not sure what I should improve with low costs first.

Thats my spec:

Weapons: 2 heavens light / both aroung +280 % dmg, eth + 3 shael in the sockets (one has only one socket)
Head: Gulliaumes with +15 ias jewel
Chest: Treachery on mageplate
gloves: low draculs
boots: crap (natalyas... didnt find anything better so far)
amu: 415 ar metalgrid
rings: a 240 ar raven and a 190 ar raven
belt: string of ears

low anni and low torch

Questions:
Do you think, my chance for open wounds is too low? only 25% from draculs.
I have -91% defense on my weapons. Does that even count for the uber bosses?
I feel like ar and dmg is definitely missing. of course. but maybe sth. else I dont understand yet.

Would be very grateful for some advise.

when I tried ubers on my barb, I had a Grief berserker axe and an eOath small crescent, and Gore Riders etc, I got it done but Baal was frustrating and long. So for my second time I had to go back and make a Malice in a military pick to get the -100def per hit. That's cumulative, unlike the -25% def that an eth rune provides. It also adds to the defense reduction provided by Battle Cry, which is unfortunately canceled out by the Life Tap on drac's, but carrying some extra pots for baal and Izual specifically (bc of their cold armor that they both use) is something to consider if you just cannot hit them. 100% open wounds on Malice doesn't hurt either obviously. Just the 25% on drac's is absolutely not enough for uber baal. You could put an UM in the Heaven's Light with 2os as well. But yeah tbh you actually killed him with a way below average gear set, gg

double grief, duress, hl, gore riders

Guilli + 2 x Grief PB + Forty + Draguls + SoE + Gores + HL + Raven + ML% Ring.

Get Fade from your Treachery ( stand at fire or something ) before start fighting. Then swap Forty back on.

Get Life Tap want to switch and cast it first, Draguls keep Life Tap up.

Also you can test 2 x Death Eth BA as weapons and wear what ever you like, Draguls are still recommended.

Baal is hard indeed. He blocks a lot and keeps spawning those mana leech son of a fuck ghosts. You may need more open wounds. Change your boots for gore rider.

I assume you are using frenzy barb?

What are your stats? Damage? Attack Rating etc.

Use your one point into howl to howl the ghosts away. Makes baal way easier. The ghosts block your attack and leech your mana, allowing him to replenish his life.

I also use battlecry on baal until the lifetap spawns. With my conc barb I didn't even use lifetap and he was also using treachery and mossers shield so it's not like he was decked to the gills with GG gear.

Use hsarus belt and boots for more attack rating if you don't happen to find anything else worth using for boots. With all his block and shit you need all the help to hit him you can get.

Uber bosses are also level 110 iirc, so leveling up to 90+ helps a ton with hit chance.

Also a cheap way to screw over baal. Use malice ith el eth in 2 flails on swap and just hit him over and over until his defense goes to zero. Or just use malice flail on offhand, don't matter. The more you hit him the shittier his defense gets.

He only gets 3150 defense, so it won't take too long for his defense to be worthless with a malice flail.

@all others: Great tips. You all helped me a lot. I will try things. Tonight another try with lvl 88 (6 higher than last time), some ar charms and gores :D

Yeah at level 82 with frenzy youre gonna have a bad time hitting baal. Hes a bitch, lots of block, lots of damage reduction, annoying ghost spawns.

I dont even bother until at least lvl 85.

Indeed with lvl82 i was about to give up after the 30th or 35th try (with interruptions farming rejuvenation potions in a1, trying several charms, rings...)... but than i had him at a point that all manaleech ghosts were shouted away and gut stuck in the surrounding houses trying to come back, lifetap procced often enough and somehow he went down (for a 13/13 dudu torch xD) - whole thing including getting the organs took me about 3 hours. 2,5 hours for baal alone xD
but hey. Was fun at the end :D

Update:
Yesterday with lvl 88, gores and about 350 additional ar from charms which gave me a 9,8k ar total with frenzy all bosses easily went down. didnt even have to use rejuvenation potions and debuffed him with battel cry (dunno if that made the difference).
