Hi bought my son an xbox one for Xmas second hand, and sometime it just turns off and then instantly turns back on, I thought it was overheating but it’s not the fan is working fine, tried restarting it, resetting it, he really doesn’t want me to send it away he’s only 7, has anyone please got any ideas to help me sort it out many thanks

Did you trying blowing the dust out with compressed air?

Maybe it's the power supply? Trying a different outlet see if it does same thing. Either poor ventilation or power supply.

just because the fans work does not stopping it from overheating. Make sure that the xbox vent is not restricted at all. if the problem persist either take it to a qualified repairman or DIY it, if its just a simple clean.
