well. since the last time you played there was a reset, so there isn't even that now.
Resets happen when a player passes alchemist which on softcore happens about 4 times a year.
I have absolutely no idea how you made it to level 22 with that gear though.
Anyway, in general, don't do a mage as first class, nothing necessarily wrong with it, just a bit more difficult than running a barb.
If you decide on a mage, i suggest this guide:
https://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=84489168&f=74if you decide on a barb we generally recommend this guide:
https://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=82660445&f=272Main thing which is out of date is both price guides.
These prices are significantly closer,
https://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=96505279&f=272But in general, you'll probably want to spend ~50 fg to get items to get you to lvl 35+ where you will regularly find items which will then sell.
I recommend the barb.
Good luck!
For getting into the game, i recommend on your first climb to go all the way to level 71 and MQ this will reset your level and give you a chance to unlock the samurai.
If you're only interested in using LS to earn fg, then i recommend you reach level 55, then avoid levelling further, do this by dying when you reach 80% exp until you exp drops to around 20%. Rinse and repeat. If you spend long enough doing this you can earn 100's and 1000's of fg.
This is because fighting mobs level 65+ are WAY WAY harder and have no benefit over mobs of lvl 64, and fighting lvl 64 mobs is only marginally better than lvl 55 mobs, but the difficulty is again much harder, hence the lvl 55 recommendation.
One of the biggest things which confuses new players is that you need to change gear regularly. a tier 3 weapon with 60ee does significantly less damage than a tier 5 weapon with 40ee.
Should aim to change gear every 10 levels or so
Level 1: tier 3 weapon ~40+ee
Level 10: lvl 10 weapon ~40+ee
level 20: lvl 20 weapon ~40+ee
level 30: lvl 30 weapon ~40+ee
level 40: lvl 40 weapon ~40+ee
level 50/55: lvl 50/500 weapon 40+ ee
Similarly a tier 3 armor with 60ee has significantly less armor than a tier 5 with 40ee.
On a charm, the amount of strength is the only thing which matters, aim for ~12-15 at tier 3, around 20-25 for level 15-20 and possibly 35+ for level 50-55.
