Hi!

I've recently started messing with photoshop to make some signatures.

I dabbled in animating recently but everything seems very basic. I'm guessing getting some extra effects added to something like flames, ash, particles in general might be a bit harder, but where do i start?

You can animate anything in Photoshop with Frame Animation.
YouTube tutorials on that function, it will help. Also consider your imagination. Anything can be animated.
Some examples of what I like to animate:

**I recommend 8 frames max, it will make your gifs smaller in size to fit the 70kb size cap on signatures.
Signature max dimensions are 400x150.

Good luck friend.

Hey mate, thanks for the reply! I eventually figured out the basics, photoshop frame animation is really good. I also found out Aseprite software, pretty nice and has kind of built-in animator. Will check out your animations as well!

Some examples of simple animation using a color dodged layer fill w/ black, then brightening up the areas i want to have light with white and then timing them on different frame to get these. Many options to get a result. Can use VFX gifs, online gifs you find and can blend into your sig, Adobe after effect animations, or other programs.
