I'm shopping around for a used car, my sister needs a new car trying to help her out. Why is it that dealerships seem to be listing every car way over value?

Any resources to use to find a good deal?

Cranky ape auction site turns up some deals, best to be near their lots and mechanically inclined. Uncle got a fat boy bike for deal there

Same with Craigslist, just don't get title scammed.

Prices are gonna be wonky until supply side of macro gets better.

The world is using Inflation & the Covid 19 pandemic as A reason to raise prices . Truth is they're just greedy scum! From the used car lots , to dealerships , to gas companies , to electric companies , to food corps , etc...

Cash or low interest is king when purchasing A used vehicle.

honestly in this market buying a new car makes more sense. protected against the car being a lemon, chip issues, warranty coverage and 0 miles with 0 chance of someone hiding looming repairs

going over the cost comparisons I'd much rather have the peace of mind with a new car and pay a small premium compared to what used to be a much bigger gap

The global pandemic disrupted automakers' supply chains, as it did everything else, and they literally couldn't make enough new cars to meet demand. I reading some reviews at https://nerdycar.com. Because there are fewer new cars on the market, there is more competition for buying used cars.

What type of car you are looking for may help.

Or in other words, supply and demand. Used car prices are not as crazy as they were two years ago.
