Very hard to find outside of very expensive small packages labelled "Sushi rice" in specialty stores.

I find it very hard to make onigiri without the short grain rice that's a tad sticky.

Does anyone know of any north American (Preferablly Canadian) producer or supplier or short grain white rice?

Would and will buy bulk if needed. I go through rice.

Uncle bens just doesn't make good onigiri

Sysco / GFS both have the product you're after. In Bulk.

*BC canada.

Go to an Asian/Chinese supermarket for real rice. Ask your wife. She probably knows where to get authentic rice that Asians eat.

Yes, you don't have to have any licensing to order from them
Err, actually I can only speak on GFS. Sysco may require it

Cal-rose is the key words you’re looking for. Nishiki, Botan, and Homai are all reputable brands.

https://www.amazon.com/Botan-Calrose-Rice-15-Pound/dp/B0081ZQR8K/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?crid=18HLY1WWPQM63&keywords=calrose+short+grain+rice+50&qid=1669747207&sprefix=cal+roae%2Caps%2C157&sr=8-6

Sysco is the devil.
