Incorrect, the ed% would only apply to your min, but the 9 max would apply to your max, your helm is bugged. snickster trolled you into wasting a jewel :/

Pretty sure it's not bugged for inanate. all pallys using knights mod + maxers at 18. If you put more Ed/max jewels in it will be though.

I was just told that it came with 30%ed it won't bug but if 8t had no ed it would . I'm confused

if it has base ed alone, you can add pure dmg jewels like min, or max, or min-max. But if you add ed/max, ed/min, ed/min-max, it will bug. That's why you barely get any min/max add from your helm, despite having 50%ed on it. the ed% is only affecting your min dmg, which is a lower integer amount so the 50%ed isn't adding a lot. And then only the +9 max dmg is adding to your max. You probably would have done more or similar damage with the circlet clean.

worth mentioning that ed/max bug does not apply to ranged attacks so if you go throw barb itll be fine (however the dmg it adds doesnt show up on char screen so you have to calc dmg yourself)

Case 4: Item has innate +Min. You socket with a +%ED Jewel. The %ED only applies to maximum, not minimum.

Case 5: You socket item with a +Max Jewel, then you socket with a +%ED Jewel. The %ED only applies to minimum, not maximum.
