Aside from the obvious that barbarian = warrior purely on the archetype alone...does anyone have an idea on the playstyle of each class compared in D2 to Wotlk?

I'm not certain the class name being similar makes the class playstyle similar, but maybe.

I'm thinking BvC plays more like a Warr - high mobility, if catch with leap (charge), high burst. high inherent defense and health pool.

Trapsin - I'm not sure here. Obv assassin is another word for rogue, but I'm not sure the playstyle matches there.

Bone necro - feels like a mage? bone shield (ice barrier), high mobility, high damage, but 1 mistake = dead. mana issues lol.

obv this is weird because of enigma, but i think you guys get my point lol.

Probably protection warrior or unholy death knight

Both are pvp damage specs with strong mobility and defensive abilities

Ret paladin falls off the mark due to poor mobility

Arms warrior falls short not being a great defensive spec (very reliant on a partner healing you)

I wouldn't say UH DK has good mobility, just prevents other people's mobility, right?

what's the difference between charge and death grip? Both have the same practical effect of putting you right on top of the ranged class that's trying to escape you

Good point. To be honest this thread was a selfish way for me to figure out if I should main a DK or warrior. I enjoyed BVC the most in d2,

Unholy DK has a bone shield.
Warrior has whirlwind.

I'd prefer UHDK.

No melee has really high mobility except a rogue or druid but even that's limited.

If you go engineering you can get speed boots in wrath but they can mess up (low probability but happens), and apparently no longer available in Arena (still fun in pve and Bg's/wpvp)

bvc is prob closest to warrior tbh

Mobility+leap -> charge/intercept/intervene
tankiness -> tankiness
bo -> commanding shout

similarities stop there.

Playstyle wise, it does feel like a bvc is more self sufficient than a warrior. Maybe uhdk is right

i mean the similarities you gave is more than what UDK has other than tankiness

you also have whirlwind on warrior which = barbarian

udk has a pet, diseases, magic damage and low mobility

if you want to play udk then i think thats great but its not similar to bvc at all. doesn't make it not fun tho
