Hey, topic title couldn't fit in properly, I was wondering if it's still possible to buy WoW subscriptions and/or pay for character boosts with a vpn/account from X country like Russia or Turkey, Argentina, etc. to make them cheaper? Is this still a thing, do you have any experience with this? I remember it used to be possible, but lately haven't heard much about it.

logging on the accounts through a vpn can get the account suspended or banned, just a heads up

That's a fair point, but if I were to do this I'd continue using the same VPN location for the account. same for creation, account would be made using the same country.

while ping is one concern, the main concern in the original post was if anybody knows if certain poorer countries get discounts on WoW subscriptions and character boosts even. anyone have experience with this?

blizzard is pretty good with banning accounts that do this. Its not the vpn that'll get you banned (unless its a public one previously used for botting) its the purchase region/currency not matching up with the ip playing on the account later on.

Theres quite a few s/a threads on jsp of people trying to flip 3rd world country bought game clients for fg and the buyer getting banned almost instantly. Steam cracked down on this heavily years ago and so did blizzard leading up to bfa. Even gifting the game to someone in a different region (eu and NA are fine) where the game is much cheaper from say brazil or venezuala to EU or NA will result in a ban or the game being stripped from the account.
