i wonder if i can use tokens to start the game with or do i have to subscribe first.

You can submit a ticket to get like 1-3 days of game time and say you wanna activate a token and they should let you. Or you can buy 60 day game time on here or battle net subforum for like 3k fg (2 month only thing they sell).
