looking for a pc upgrade
16gb ram is the obvious needed for gaming
however, im considering 32gb, is 32gb really needed or can 16gb smash any and all games?

has anyone had any experience with certain games or mass stuff on their pcs and have found 16gb to be an issue? (in a bad way)

16gb is the sweet spot for gaming. A few demanding titles will use up to 9-10gb and I have yet to play a game that utilizes more than 12gb ram, personally.

32 is overkill. I've only been using 4gb on my pc and it runs d2 lod + gta V at the same time with 0 lag....planning on adding 16gb possibly tho for other reasons non game related

ye maybe it is, but tbh if there was a chance to pay an extra 50-100 £/$ and get a 32gb over 16gb then i mean it cant do no harm, it is a long lasting investment afterall
but yeah, i guess 32gb wont be neccesary 99 times out of 100 :D

get the 32gb if you can afford the extra $$$

Future proofing never a bad idea.. go for 4x8gb sticks if you can and run quad channel

Depends on windows 7 , 10, 11
7 @ 8GB
10 @ 16GB
11 @ 32GB

When I'm on windows 11, with a fresh install I'm normally sitting at 4.7GB
Once I select a better windows theme, i'm sitting at 5.5GB
Logging into Google/microsoft emails / xbox account now sitting at 7.2 GB
Any anti virus software or malwarebytes adds another 1GB ram easy.

Most Video Games now days assuming 1080P run at 4 to 8 GB of ram,
When Doing 2k or 4k Some games even take 10 to 12 gb of ram. ( not even calculating the Video Ram )

16GB on a budget and or windows 10. but if 11, definitely get the 32.
