... and, even more importantly, don't get on the wrong side of the swamp. There have been so many examples of the FBI being politicized and operating on a double standard in recent years that the sheer fact of an FBI raid can no longer be taken as evidence for the guilt of the searched person or organization.

That being said, in the specific case of Trump, he most definitely "deserved it".


Anyway, the feds making a martyr out of Trump while preventing him from running for president again might be the best thing that could happen to the GOP. Would give extra energy to the base and get rid of the "Trump problem" without causing the base to turn on the party.
