Someone on D2R said that "if this game is too hard, go play Diablo 3 instead"

Back in 2015, D3 was way more grindy and boring than D2LOD/D2R. It took me about 2 months to grind my first Enigma on D2R but on D3, back in 2014 at least, the same game time didn't get me shit. Rifts just got introduced but my characters were so shit they could not even solo Torment VI.

In my opinion, D2LOD/D2R requires much less grinding than the 2015 version of D3 so whoever said to play D3 instead, I couldn't really understand what they meant.

Nowadays, I hear people say that D3 can get end game tier items after a couple of days of rifting.

Can someone explain how D3 end game now works?

Thanks for the lukewarm reception, I went back to test it out. Turns out the changes since 2015 have been superficial. T16 is now highest campaign difficulty, used to T6 in 2015. Without any changes, my barb can clear T16 even easier than 2015's T6.

Endgame is basically just rifting. Someone in chat said to keep rifting "til you die IRL". Sounds about right.

The exercise basically reminded me of why I stopped playing.

Yeah basically you grind rifts to upgrade your gear slightly and push higher rift levels. Pretty monotonous

As a d2 fan, my biggest gripe with d3 is you get spoon fed gear and can’t trade it.

I’ve had fun playing the game… but it gets boring quickly.
