I see a lot of blizzard sorcs running iceblast instead of glacial spike and it makes me question it.

Iceblast is single target whereas spike is aoe and does much better when hitting at least 2 enemies or more

It does not if glacial spike hits at least 2 enemies it deals more damage, let alone if glacial hits 3-5 it does far more

GS only gives dmg to one enemy, on top of that, freezes mobs around the mob. This is how I understand it.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Nope, it does a HUGE aoe damage and freezes any target hit by it's damage
