Can a rare item have only 3 prefixes, or do they always come with at least 1 prefix and 1 suffix

I think it is max 3 prefix and 3 suffix, should always have at least 3 total (1:2 or 2:1)

Rare Items have 2 to 6 magical properties or Magic Prefixes or Magic Suffixes.

Thanks for that! I read at a few places that Arreat Summit is erroneous there for claiming that, and I'm inclined to agree as I've never seen a rare with fewer than 3 affixes

I identified a bunch of rares and came across this


I could be wrong but it appears to be 3 suffixes
of Frost Shield
of the Mind
of the Jackal

So I guess just having 3 prefixes is also possible
