built a new PC and my heatsink has 2 120mm fans on it, the center one works just fine, but the other one can go on the left/right of the heatsink, except it cannot fit.
1 side it hits the ram, and protrudes out wider than the case can allow, on the opposing side it hits the motherboards "cover" over the rear plugs and protrudes even worse.
need suggestions, new heatsink? cut the case so the fan "fits" by sticking outside the case lmao
only run 1 fan?

Ah, so even moving from A1/B1 to A2/B2 doesn't make a difference? How much clearance do you need? You can get low profile fans for the heatsink, may solve the problem.

i took off the 1 fan since it has 2, i haven't installed windows 10 cause apparently the old USB i have of it does not have the product key on it..it came on the box which i didn't keep it's been 6 1/2 years since i built a new pc my last one i built aswell..
so i have to go buy a flash drive, and get windows on that i think to install windows
but anyways i left it idoling for about 30 minutes and it didnt get warm at all so i atleast know it's okay at idle..under load may be a different story however..
only one way to really find out.

Some options that come to mind are :

- single fan (if you have a low power CPU this should be fine)
- low-profile ram
- wire hook to attach the second cooler fan at a different height away from the RAM. This works for some coolers and for others it ends up really janky, possibly noisy with fan rattling

New case , or get smaller trimmed fans?

try to plug ram after installing the heatsink and fan. Or try to change the heatsink angle
