Depends on how good your gear is to some extent.

If MQ weapon is 120ee or less, might be worth considering high twohitback + powerstrike + retribution, especially if you're using /set easy 1
For decent gear, multistrike gets more useful as you can often 1 hit all 3 mobs upto level 45. Avoid if using /set easy 1

Those are the 4 abilities i'd personally use, as my gear is very good i generally lean towards high multistrike + powerstrike and a little twohitback.

MQ gear is decent 140+ ee

Had been running Multi/twohitback/Powerstrike but had someone tell me to use Backstab and Bottoms up.. Said multi's damage was to low and would be more overall dps.. As for twohitback So far I'm not a big fan of "on hit taken" skills... They are very slow even solo..

Thanks for response just figured I would get some peoples opinions on it..

backstab is really bad due to it being so inflexible, same with bottoms up.

Knockdown is the go-to skill if you're looking to hit 2 or 3 mobs at the same time with extra damage as much more flexible on which line to choose.

The other choice is doublestrike, yes this is going to be red, but if you're not a fan of twohitback it's another option. Would have thought twohitback would charge faster seeing it's blue, but maybe worth a try.

Two-Hit-Back ability is better when using Stat ONLY armor, NOT enhanced effect armor when solo'ing. Now, as for group runs, you are NOT tanking when using Stat armor... so in most cases you are sitting in the back RIGHT? thus it isn't that effective, so in a group run, when sitting in the back as a samurai you go Multistrike and for a secondary ability, you can use Knockdown for taking out a Column of 3 mobs, and your third ability will be Powerstrike.

Group (Using Stat armor [in the back]) Multi Strike / Knockdown (personally I would not bother with a 3rd ability, BUT) Powerstrike for a single monster as a third ability.

Group (Using EE armor [tanking in the front]) Multistrike / Two Hit Back and Knockdown as a third... ONLY if you trust your healers in the group. NOTE: personally your EE armor for tanking SHOULD have stat... but they are expensive.

Solo... I personally only use Two Hit Back & Salvation (no 3rd ability) and I DON'T USE enhanced effect armor, I use STAT armor and ensure I have a base of 30 intelligence and also use a level 25 heal type charm in ACC slot with a minimum of 12x% enhanced effect.

Here is my current toon / level and equipment solo'ing on HC:

SSPro

Level 71 Samurai
Core: Hardcore
Life: 6104 / 7261
Mana: 1458 / 2160
Experience: 70,374,541
Strength: 93
Dexterity: 59
Intelligence: 68
Vitality: 116
Stat Points: 0
Kills: 66,947
Deaths: 0
MQ Pass / Fail: 1 / 1
MQ Attempts: 2
Ladder Resets: 0

Mystical diamond longsword
Level Req: 40
Damage: 98 to 984
+126% Enhanced Effect
+3% Armor Pierce
+9% Fire Mastery

Angelic tempered diamond plate mail
Level Req: 45
Physical Defense: 50 to 151
Magical Defense: 0 to 19
+16 Vitality
+38 Intelligence
+8 Life Regen
+2% Mind Numb

Mystical wild heal VI
Level Req: 15
Heals: 9 to 97
Mana Cost: 45
+30 Strength
+2% Life Steal
+1% Heal Mastery

Mystical heal VIII
Level Req: 25
Heals: 93 to 249
Mana Cost: 61
+139% Enhanced Effect
+1 Critical Strike
+1% Glancing Blow

I switch armor when I am not regenerating in town to this:

Legendary fossilized scale armor
Level Req: 40
Physical Defense: 23 to 92
Magical Defense: 17 to 53
+47 Strength
+1 Mana Regen
+1 Extra Equipment Slots
+1 to 3 Mana per Attack
+1% Quick Draw
+24% Heal Mastery
+1 Jubilance

My abilities are Two Hit Back & Salvation... that is all, there is NO point to have a third ability... however... if you forgo healing, you may just choose Multi and Two Hit back... get 72% in each is great and just using stat armor for killing 2 or 3 mob spawn... the only annoying thing is coming across multiple waves of a single monster spawn.

Note: my stats show 68 intelligence and 116 vitality... only reason is because of the armor... +16 Vitality / +38 Intelligence, so, the base Intelligence is 30 and the base Vitality is 100 when I switch to the +47 Strength level 40 Scale armor without Enhanced Effect.

Yes, that is why I and a LOT of others solo'ing use Salvation when solo'ing.

Actually... I used to tank in a group on Hardcore with STAT armor (not enhanced effect) and use Salvation ability while being a Guardian (better use here) in a full group.
