If you're looking at his PPG only you gotta dig deeper homie. He stopped shooting 22+ times per game when he went to Brooklyn and dropped it to like 16-17 FGA per game. But he also dramatically increased his assists and became a better facilitator and truly elite PG. His first playoff run in Brooklyn he dominated though before that injury, he was putting up MVP Harden numbers.
Much of the decrease has to do with the fact that he didn't NEED to shoot so much being on teams with other superstars. Playing with KD, Kyrie, and now Embiid (and Maxey) he doesn't need to take that many shots and is asked to be the true PG of these teams.
I completely expect him to lead the NBA in assists per game this season. He was #2 last year and with an actual off-season to train and gel with the team he shoukd be a dime MACHINE with these scorers around him.
