Regardless of your use case, the 3080's are on a sweet spot price-wise right now that it almost doesn't make sense to get anything else, so I'm glad you put that in your parts list. 3080 Ti not worth it and 3070/Ti is not much cheaper. Shitegg has the 3080 12gb for $770 on sale and it's likely to go lower if you don't want to shop there and are OK to wait.

If you were able to wait long enough to upgrade from a 970Ti, it's either a 3080 now, or wait to see 40-- availability. I myself am riding out my 1060 until the 40 series. But it's hard not to pull the trigger on a 3080. :thumbsup:

The DDR4 vs DDR5 Ram is not a Huge Performance Difference at this time, but it is noticeable, and prices will lower over time as it just came out.
The Bonus: of getting everything new/compatible with DDR5, is that this 1700 Socket of intel will be the First Generation in its Series, which means 4 years from now, if needed you can upgrade the CPU or Ram seperate, without having to do a full MOBO/CPU/Ram Combo upgrade.
You also get the Generation of PCI-Express boost and storage speed boost, so thats where the big difference really helps.

-> D2R: Uses 2.5 to 3GB Ram DDR4
Uses 10% of GPU Usage on the RTX 3080 12GB EVGA FTW3 @2K High Settings.

- Really Depends on how much stuff you have running, I have an average amount of stuff, and im using 9GB of Ram before opening D2R.
(88% and higher Usage, is where you may start experiencing lag)

Also: Can always lower Graphics.
4 Ram Cards , is better than 2 Cards by like a 3-5% performance.

Thank you for this feedback!! I will most likely get an additional set of ram sticks to put it to 64gb but it's not a necessity by any means and not something i need to do at the start :P

For reason AMD always using frequency from RAM for the performance. Considering using DDR5 RAM nowadays, because it's better and have bigger frequency than DDR4 RAM
