Okay, so I too have fallen victim to paying a ridiculous price for an ethereal Andy's visage. Recently instead of just throwing it on, I compared the difference in overall defense and it was severely underwhelming. Maybe 75 defense more, but easily 5x the price of a non eth andy. Why is this? Why does everyone want an eth Andy over non eth, if it doesn't protect you all that much more? Is there something else I'm missing? Cause buying for a flex is just stupid imo. Fill me in folks, or reassure my conclusion that eth andys are stupid and a waste of fg.

i just checked a perf ed% roll, and its more like a difference of about 200defense and about 150 on the worst roll at 100%ed, rough numbers.

but ya, its just hype. a non eth andys will do just fine for your merc. (leech/ias/str is really what youre after)

why do you think a 3/19 eschutas is worth "x" and a 3/20 eschutas is worth 10x.... when the difference in 1% light skill dmg is negligible.

no one but yourself can determine if its worth it or not. i think most would say it is not.

I could understand a perfect stat item being significantly more, because well it's perfect after all. Does it make thaaat much of a difference, absolutely not. But people will pay 600fg for a 8/25 eth Andy and bid 75fg for a 10/25 non eth. Just super silly in my opinion. Was told previously not to waste valuable jewels in a non eth Andy.

Agreed. Its just a flex.

Perfect items always cost significantly more than close to perf. Eth andys vs regular are the same way. It's 20x as rare, 5x the price, and about 1.05x more useful

Do people really care about that though? I don't see an eth Andy being "cooler" than a non eth. For weapons/armor, there's a utility. With helms it's just dumb.

well there are significantly fewer ethereal versions in circulation. and if the item is always destined to be equipped on your merc, it being "perfect" kinda includes it being ethereal in this case, on top of how the stats roll.
this idea is shared with the opinion of not wanting to waste jewels in a non-eth version.

eth is better because more defense. up to you to decide if its worth it or not.

Yeah, it aint much, but the price premium is fantastic if you pick one up and find yourself on the selling side.

Oftentimes that defense bonus will be amplified by a decently stacked support BO, so we're talking more like 3-4.5x that difference in defense rating, which is like having an extra Tal armor for vanilla % struck calc.

I mean i personally wouldn't put a 15ias/30fr jewel in a noneth andys but that's just me.

There's a bit of utility on eth andys, if you have frozen armor and defiance that 150def difference can multiple onto 1000+.

I honestly don't think it's a measurable difference between the two. If you personally don't give af about eth andys, then sell yours and just get a nice noneth. People like to optimize/min-max their builds. Eth andys is technically a bit better than non eth for merc. Thats it

perfect items makes you feel better...why settle for an ugly wife when you have a perfect one?
