made my first hc char tonight got to lvl 26 after surviving about 5-7 instances of hostile pkers killing people for no reason. until finally met my fate where i stepped into a tp instantly got hostile and pk before i even loaded into the tp.

is it gonna constantly be like this? how do you everyday hc players avoid this bs?

Yes, they consider it fun % thrill. There are shitloads of videos on YT where these 'badass' PKers killing randoms at cs/baalruns. HC is for private groups who can play without constant stress of being PKd or lured into kill tp. Also the save and exit during every hostile becomes annoying really quick, thus people often risk the hostile and die. Meh.

Cant you just create a private game and play there?

Or set a game with password so nobody join?

Part of the game man … when someone offers you bo outside town .. don’t be naive and just run out .. similar to when a random person offers you a drink in a bar ..

I’ve played two characters through public games up to level 89 and 75 this season with no experiences like this so far. The only time I’ve been hostiled was in a public dclone game while collecting an extra anni

My advice would be to not enter stranger tps unless you really feel out what the other players intentions are - some will pretend to help for a bit just to play you 10 minutes in

Overall, I would say hardcore is more enjoyable for the self reliant player. However, at the same time I’ve come to rely and enjoy playing with my core group of friends even more on HC because a player you can trust to loot corpse and never pk is infinitely valuable

Also, this happens in low level games more often. Because it’s easy to PK somebody low level.

It’s more common late into the ladder when people are bored.

And it doesn’t even happen that often…
