Due to the softcore economy being pretty shit already and hardcore looking pretty strong I decided to give it a shot (never done it even in LOD), but I have played a lot in those years. I have seen most hardcore deaths due to what they say is stupid teleports. From what I have seen it's really easy to say I was doing stupid teleporting after the fact. How do the hardcore badasses teleport so this never happens? I mean never let BO drop duh but what else? Any legit answers would be awesome.

They don't. Some are just more lucky than others, but aggressive teleporting will sooner or later result in death. No matter how good gear you have. There may be cheating involved though.

One thing i do when teleporting if using a sorceress, is this: Boss monster packs give off a light radius even if they are not spotted. That means you can see them on the other side of walls. So taking the time to stop teleporting and watch the other side of walls before teleporting will save your life. It slows everything down, but 1) It is faster than running, and 2) Every kind of progress is faster than dying and starting over.

But yes .. there is no magic trick. Some just buy fg and then buy new leveled and fully decked characters when they die because they are 1) Too lazy to do the work themselves and 2) They don't enjoy the game for what it is.

The game is full of bugs and disconnects. 90% of the hardcore deaths isn’t even by gameplay

Unless u call shit like lord de seis bug gameplay

There are no smart or dumb teleports.

The key to hardcore is understanding the games defenses and understand what monsters/ situations will kill you.


For teleporting I would have 105 fcr breakpoint and 86 fhr.

With no lag, you should be able to teleport freely. The fhr keeps you from getting stuck in 1 spot too long if you get hit.


I highly recommend not even attempting hell farming until you have the fcr/fhr mentioned above, max resistances, at least level 75 and a decent life pool.

but you can't control where your mouse don't go

You can't die while teleporting, you can only die if you stop teleporting.

it's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop...

it's not the teleporting that kills you, it's getting fhr locked and not having above 75 all resists

i've made many sorceress on hardcore

Stormshield = your friend
wiz spike = your friend
frostburns
2x 15 mdr dwarf stars
20% fcr ammy with resist
vipermagi with sol or light facet
griffons with sol or light facet
string of ears belt
edit --- boots = hotspurs

thats basic setup

you can swap one dwarf with a perfect nature's peace too

use at least 3+ skiller grand charms
use torch + anni
rest can be resist sc and plain lifers

obviously merc will use infinity / fort / eth andys with 10% life leech and 15% ias / 30 fire resist jewel ( or ral if you cheap)

you can run everything except baal... and chaos is doable but would suggest using lawbringer instead of wiz spike and go for 75% fcr breakpoint (iirc i forget exact number but i think 75% and 120% are the two for lightning)

you can also if you want to be more "Magic find orientated"

You can use tals armor + ammy + belt + wiz spike + stormshield + hotspurs + 2x dwarfs + griffons and facet everything, or use full tals and facet everything... either works fine

wiz spike is best hardcore wep you can use and very under-rated ... you can probably get one free most realms within a week of gameplay


double edit --- you can use 15% fcr ammy and still hit 120% breakpoint when using griffons
triple edit --- you can use tgods if attempted baal but wouldn't suggest it, 15mdr string of ears is best for most gameplay

max vitality, no points in mana, use 1-5 points energy shield and 16-20 points telekenisis

should be able to run alot of areas

Also no matter how "good" you are...

You better always be ready to "Escape + Up arrow + enter" or Escape + click the right button to exit game

i've seen the dirtiest tp's possible and still survived with a quick exit when I know i'm about to be slaughtered by a dirty tp

Basically hardcore you build defense instead of damage.

max block
max resistances preferably @90 all
%50 DR
light absorb
fire absorb
cold absorb
105% fcr
damage reduced
magic damage reduced
use BO barb instead of CTA
inventory of life/res scs

lastly know some of the bugs and what can kill you.

Would have to do some pretty dumb shit to die.
