Without a doubt, they scored 4 goals and like a minute in the second period, the game couldve easily been won by either team. As well the series too. The Kings, Leafs, and Pens were all up 3-2 on their first round series and ended up losing.
I think most of the issue (for me any way, and probably most others who didnt have an emotional stake in the game) isnt the call itself but rather the ambiguity in which the rule is written. It was the perfect example of a true 50/50 call and because of the vagueness of the rules it was judged in a way that a large portion of hockey fans just will not be able to see. To you its a good goal, to me its also good, and to SP as well, but then Subzero, Drago, Manajunkie, etc. all see it it the other way around.
In reality its on the league, not the refs. The league needs to step up and rewrite the vague ambiguous rules so that they have concrete terms and criteria. The game will be better for the players and the fans if we all know what can or can't happen and what is or is not allowed.

I mean. Sutter could have challenged. Couldn't he of?

And oilers win 4 straight but "series can go anyway too" come on man.

The dude admits to assisting it in with his foot. And people here still saying there was no kick. I can't even

Not an Oilers fan by any means but in my opinion it was the right call. Obviously the rule is terribly written and something of this magnitude was bound to happen

Deliberate kicking motion to me doesn’t mean a full blown soccer kick. If you “assist” the puck into the net and your foot is not stationary, that’s a kick imo.

At the end of the day, that’s not what cost the flames the series.

Im pretty certain you cannot challenge that.
IF the goal had stood and IF the Flames won, it would be a 3-2 series which is anybodies game. So yes, it could have gone either way. Its funny, when the oilers were down 2-3 to the kings (the worst playoff team) and everybody was laughing, you came back to win two in a row. Fuck outta here if you think the flames couldnt have done the same.

If these are good goals, and the one bruins posted last night where the jets kick that shit in from damn near the faceoff circle then colemans shouldve counted too, either that or they all shouldnt count. But not a mixture, and thats the fuckin problem.

Im more surprised by the fact that the ref on ice called it a good goal, and the puck was going into the net anyway and they've allowed far more balantant kicking motion goals that wouldn't have gone in otherwise. It's rare the see the league negate and reverse the ref on ice's call.

Like we've seen refs make poor calls live time, and upon review, everybody be like zomg noob he blind?! And they've stuck with the refs decision etc.

Game 2 and 5 were easily coin tosses. Series could be 3-2 flames right now. It isn’t, we lost, but yes the league helped you along at the end.
