I don't think that's necessarily a contradiction. On the substance, Roberts agreed with the arguments brought forth by the five other conservative justices for why Roe was a bad decision and worthy of being overturned - it's just that he, unlike them, thought these arguments were outweighed by how disruptive this decision would be, that it would weaken stare decisis in general and damage the public reputation of the court (which, let's be honest, has always been Roberts' primary concern).

I would say it is more of a "religious" move than a "Political" move.
But of course both are quite related to one another in the GOP.

If you believe in the drawn out 25 year cycle and using rare expensive drugs to make the actual worst of humanity not get hurt when they die, sure, you’re correct. It’s become a joke because weak idiots think they can rehabilitate every single person. Their narcissism that if they just talk to them enough they won’t rape anymore is total insanity. Most of these people can’t be fixed. Period.

Most people don’t commit horrific crimes because their brain works right. Some don’t because they only fear punishment. And some don’t care if they get punished they’ll do it anyway.

Right now it’s too criminal-friendly. Execute 10,000 in a year and yea, crimes will drop. Then do 25,000 the next year. Keep raising the numbers. Dead men commit exactly zero rapes. Add it to the death penalty list and in a very short time, it’ll drop significantly.

More jail space for non-killers and non-rapists, saves tax payers quite literally millions and millions, society gets to have women walk down the street especially at night without having to worry about being attacked, everybody wins. It’s disgusting that criminals having endless rights, they don’t deserve it.

126,000 cases in 2020 alone and it excludes statutory and other offenses. Plenty of people that society doesn’t want or need that do nothing but cause damage wherever they go. Amazingly cases were going down until all the anti-police rhetoric kicked up in 2012 and there’s a near 30% spike increase. People who defend criminal acts support crime. Now back to topic, abortion IS killing a baby, and there are extremely limited cases I’m ok with that if it’s for the greater good of our fricken species. The morning after pill more accurately induces a miscarriage. Birth control is like maaaaybe $100, which if you don’t have $100 a month maybe focus on being a better adult before getting busted in by every guy who buys you a Chipotle bowl. Condoms cost like $20 for a 12-pack. So how about society goes after the beginning of the problems instead of allowing them to grow and complain later when it’s too late. Drop the rape rate, drop the need for rape abortions. Again, everybody wins.
