This computer is on sale at my local costco. Wondering if it's worth buying...I have never been a big PC gamer aside from games like Diablo that require very minor specs - i've never had a computer that was capable of playing AAA games. I work a lot and don't really play a lot of games these days anyway, but this seems cheap considering the specs. Wiill definitely be mostly used for checking emails and browsing the web unfortunately, but will likely attempt to play some newer games.

Specs:
Dell
i7-11700
32gb ram
GeForce RTX 3060 Ti
Dual Drives: 512GC ssd + 1TB hdd

$1400

I don't know how you want the people to interpret "work a lot". But if you're using this for e-mails and web browsing (and if that is your definition of work), then the i7 is more than enough. 32GB RAM is also more than enough. For your work, you can get by with i5 or i3, and 16GB RAM.

RTX 3060 is "entry" level. So 3060 Ti is a "half" step up. I'm grossly simplifying things here for you. It should be enough for games like D2R and maybe 1080p-medium setting on AAA games.

This is a HORRIBLE take. 3060ti is a 1440p graphics card and will run AAA games and high refresh rates at that resolution

Thanks for clarifying, that was my assumption based on the comparison to a PS4 gpu for example

no im saying, if you look at the GPU comparison to a PS4, the 3060ti out-performs it by alot, which would mean it can play games like Destiny at minimum

At 1080P the 3060TI can max out almost everything on the market currently. And games like D2R run well in 1440p.

Is it an XPS? They put in half decent GPU's (Dell Brand) but the cooling and fans are all inadequate, sometimes they even use server PSU's. They're notorious for not giving you the right Ram config, shorting Ram and just being explosive heat boxes that ramp your fans to high db's in no time.

Even if you don't game much and just casually, I wouldn't recommend buying a Dell. Use your money to enjoy your gaming experience. You can get similar configs for around the same price.

If you're just casual gaming etc, an i5 11th Gen+/Ryzen 5 5600X and RTX3060 will knock it out of the park.

Yep, even the entry level 3060 slaps. Currently running i7 9700KF/Z390 Aorus Elite/RTX 3060/16G HyperX Beast + LG 27GP850B 1440P 27" 180HZ OC

And I can play whatever I want max settings, all day (on 9th gen intel)

.. but usually busy building computers xD

This is the correct answer.

a GTX1060 plays Destiny 2 like butter, even the APU Ryzen 5 3400G (last gen) can play Destiny 2 at 60FPS

Destiny rocks btw

errrrrr

mix ultra/high in AAA titles @ 1080p
High/Medium @ 1440p

i5-9600k
1080ti
16gb of ram....

your estimate for power is very skewed. The PC OP is looking at is a very capable build.
