What does dex do in this game ? Is it chance to hit it chance for critical ?

Dexterity is used to increase the damage of staffs/dagger and is equally good as strength at increasing the damage of axes.

As a barb you can safely dump all the points into strength, seeing polearm is the only weapon a barb can use which would prefer dex and heavy weapons are much rarer than standard weapons, so chances of you coming across a polearm is pretty slim.
Also, if the "free item" topic guy still hasn't got back to you i think i have 1 or 2 items lying around on HC which might help.

He has but I was driving yesterday and today so didn't get home until an hour or two ago. And I did find 1 polearm but was a III with no mods. But if you're willing I'll totally accept some help, made a second guy just to transfer crap to my barb to heal with the shrine. Lol

Oh I know, that's what I was saying. I use second guy to transfer items to barb so barb can heal
